Roman Citizenship has to be earned
In alignment with meritocratic principles Roman Citizenship has to be earned. In order to join our parallel society you need to show and prove your worth. Roman authority will judge if you are eligible to obtain the status of a Roman Citizen. If you belong to the group of most active individuals in society but lack integrity you have no chance. Your track record together with your gifted nature decide the level of favour you will receive. A privileged position in the system means nothing if you are not loyal to Rome or do not uphold its ideals. Our values center around true heroism and legitimate claims of grandeur, not values rooted in middle-class obsession with well-being and social conformity.

Rise of Gammonzilla
The Times cartoon on the Epping protests is epic. Middle classes protesting, while Gammonzilla watches over. This is a metaphor for the awakening from the perspective of woke elites. In reality, the Lion has awakened.

Transference on the part of Judah; Messala was an ambitious and immoral young man (he was only about18 in the book) and Rome never made him do anything. By the way, in the book Messala gets paralyzed from the waist down and lives out the remainder of his miserable life near Antioch while Juda and Esther become Christians, marry, have children, and move to southern Italy.

"Old resentment" "grown men" "limited freedom." The opposition makes their own decent case. In some ways Ben-Hur suffers from a character fault of that resentment, rather than just saving his mother and sister.

I love the nature of the conversation. This was one of the best Biblical epics ever filmed. Earned every Oscar. Will always honor and love Charlton Heston.

Pontius as well as Tiberius Ceasar really showed that on the highest levels of the political hierarchy, they may have had good altuistic intentions for their people much like Judah, it's the ones on the lower ranking levels like Messala who are still trying to prove themselves and make their mark. This scene really shows that there can be quite the disconnect between the various ranks of the political world of any nation.

Just to show how crazy Messala became, he was willing to kill Judah, who he knew was now Quintus Arrius the Younger, just to win a chariot race. Killing the adopted son of the emperor's right-hand man would have been NO way to advance his career! Even though as the sheik said "There is no law in the area!" it's doubtful Consul Arrius would have seen it that way. Messala would have spent the rest of his life commanding dirty details in the boondocks of the empire. The deed WAS Messala's! He was a career-crazed sociopath who got what was coming to him.
